But now you&#8217;d like to use it on a smart TV or other device in order to watch your favorite shows. This device could be the Apple TV, ChromeCast, Samsung TVs, Panasonic TVs, Nintendo, Playstation, XBox, or anything similar.<\/p>\n<p>Most of these&nbsp;devices do not allow you to specify a VPN in their network settings. And most also don&#8217;t allow third-party applications to be installed on them. So, the solution is to connect to the FoxyProxy VPN using a laptop or computer <strong>with a wired or 2nd Wifi connection<\/strong>, and then <strong>share that connection<\/strong> over Wifi with the smart TV\/other device. The smart TV thinks it&#8217;s connecting to a Wifi router when it&#8217;s actually connecting to your computer\/laptop. The other can be either a&nbsp;wired ethernet connection or a&nbsp;Wifi USB stick, for example (i.e. two wifi connections).<\/li>\n<li>A&nbsp;fully functional FoxyProxy VPN subscription. If you haven&#8217;t purchased&nbsp;a VPN account already, do so here: <a class=\"external free\" href=\"https:\/\/getfoxyproxy.org\/order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/getfoxyproxy.org\/order\/<\/a> . Test the account to make sure it works on your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span id=\"How_to_share_the_VPN_connection_on_Mac\" class=\"mw-headline\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n<h4><span id=\"How_to_share_the_VPN_connection_on_Mac\" class=\"mw-headline\">How to share the VPN connection on Mac<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>1.&nbsp; Connect to a&nbsp;wired Ethernet connection or 2nd Wi-Fi connection using, for example, a Wifi USB stick, then <a href=\"\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/manual-setup-for-os-x\/\">connect to your FoxyProxy VPN account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Open System Preferences-&gt;Network. Select the VPN connection on the left that you <a href=\"\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/manual-setup-for-os-x\/\">setup in step 1<\/a>. In the image below, it&#8217;s named &#8220;VPN (PPTP)&#8221;. Click the Advanced button and make sure &#8220;Send all traffic over VPN&#8221; is checked<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Screen_Shot_2016_06_01_at_2.37.53_PM-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Screen_Shot_2016_06_01_at_2.37.53_PM-1.png\" width=\"1340\" height=\"1120\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. Open System Preferences-&gt;Sharing. Select Internet Sharing on the left. Under &#8220;Share your connection from&#8221; select &#8220;VPN (PPTP)&#8221; or whatever your VPN connection in step 2 is named. Under &#8220;To computers using&#8221; select &#8220;Wi-Fi&#8221;. On the left, click the checkbox next to Internet Sharing. You&#8217;ll be prompted &#8220;Are you sure you want to turn on Internet Sharing?&#8221;. From your Apple TV or other device, connect to the new Wi-Fi network you named in step 3.<\/p>\n<h4><span id=\"How_to_share_the_VPN_connection_on_Windows\" class=\"mw-headline\">How to share the VPN connection on Windows<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The first step is to connect to the VPN on your Windows computer and enable it for sharing.&nbsp;<a href=\"\/index.php\/knowledge-base\/manual-setup-for-windows-10\/\">Follow the instructions to connect to your FoxyProxy VPN account with native Windows rather than a FoxyProxy app<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Connect_to_the_VPN\" class=\"mw-headline\">Connect to the VPN<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/300px-Vpn_connected2.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-272\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-272\" src=\"http:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/300px-Vpn_connected2.png\" alt=\"300px-Vpn_connected2\" width=\"300\" height=\"410\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/300px-Vpn_connected2.png 300w, https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/300px-Vpn_connected2-220x300.png 220w, https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/300px-Vpn_connected2-37x50.png 37w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After setting the VPN up, the next step is to share your Internet connection. Go to the taskbar and click on the connection icon. You will see the VPN connection you just created. Right-click on the VPN and select <b>Properties<\/b>. Choose the sharing tab and check <b>Allow other networks users to connect through this computer\u2019s Internet connection.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Sharing_tab.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-273\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-273\" src=\"http:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Sharing_tab.png\" alt=\"Sharing_tab\" width=\"541\" height=\"594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Sharing_tab.png 541w, https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Sharing_tab-273x300.png 273w, https:\/\/help.getfoxyproxy.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Sharing_tab-46x50.png 46w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 541px) 100vw, 541px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You need to share the VPN with a connection that you aren&#8217;t already using. For example, if your Windows computer is connected to the Internet via WiFi, create a 2nd Wifi connection and connect the TV to that. <b>For this to work, you have to share the VPN to an inactive connection.<\/b> This is why you need to connectionsto your Wifi&nbsp;router, as described in the beginning of this article.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Reconnect_to_the_VPN\" class=\"mw-headline\">Reconnect to the VPN<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Finally, click OK and reconnect to the VPN to enable sharing and connect your TV or device. The idea is that your <b>router<\/b> connects to the FoxyProxy VPN.
